米倉 千尋 (Yonekura Chihiro)
The very first time I came across Chihiro's music was around 1993, when I purchased a pirate VCD of "Gundam MS 08 Team". At the time I have no idea that it was her performing the opening for the show, nor it was great enough to keep me notice (due to my taste of music at the time...).
First forward to 2001, when I started to watch "Love Hina the Xmas Special", I notice one of the theme songs is so good that I went out and bought a Taiwan version of the OST CD. The song is "Winter Wish", and since then Chihiro has become my 2nd favourite Japanese singer since Chage & Aska came into my life in 1994.
You may not have heard of her much, because she is not a "mainstream" pop singer. In fact, most of her early works involved in theme songs for anime shows and video games, which she still does from time to time. However, her career has since then grown into something bigger, due to the fact that she started to compose her own songs. (That always catch my attentions...) Now entering her 10th year (as of 2005), she already released a "best collection" CD in late 2004, and one can expect more good things to come as she continues her career...
By the way, Chihiro-san also write her own lyrics too...
