The reasons behind the aliens' invasion, plus the painful past of this mysterious and dangerous young man D-Boy will be revealed. Can he survive it all...?
Tekkaman Blade was first released in 1992, as a "new version" to the original TV series "Tekkaman" back in 1975. A 6-episode OVA sequel "Tekkaman Blade II" was released in 1994.

Tekkaman Blade (1992-1993)
49 episodes TV series
What really stands out for this show is that the lead character, D-Boy / Tekkanman Blade, is the most tragic of all in recent memory. (I cannot think of any other right now.) So tragic that towards the end of the show, you just have to sympathise for him. He lost close to everything just to fight the aliens. (Don't really want to say too much if you have not watch it yet.)
Great characters with plenty of surprises along the way keep the show entertaining for the whole show.
Simply a must watch!!!

Tekkaman Blade II (1994)
6 episodes OVA
10 years has since the end of Tekkaman Blade. Earth is once again facing the Radam invasion, with a new team of Space Knights, can Earth survives another invasion...?
When I first heard about it, I am kind of excited. Well, one of my old friends warned me that I may be dissappointed, and bingo, he is right again.
This is what happens when you have a good and successful show, you try to make more money by making a sequel. I have no problem with that, but given the result, I think it ruined the story to the point that it no longer make sense. It is just too much stuff for 6 episodes.

I have never watched it, nor I will want to. After all, why torture myself with something that is just plain stupid after I have watched the remake version?
However, given it is make in 1975, the concept of getting into a robot to transform into a fighting "superman" is a kinda unique concept around 1975...
