Sister Princess is originally the second project launched by Dengeki G's Magazine back in 1999, and from then until October 2002, 2 Playstation games were released, as well as the 2 anime series. The project was ended at its height in 2002 for G's Magazine new project, Futakoi. Nonetheless, Sister princess became one of the best well-known franchise for Dengeki. The project is illustrated by 天広直人 (Tenhiro Naoto) and written by 公野櫻子 (Kimino Sakurako).
While some anime sites, like Anime News Network, will list Sister Princess ~Re Pure~ as the sequel to the first anime series, I have to disagree, as it shows too much differences in the story to qualify as a real sequel.

Sister Princess (2001)
26 episodes TV series
As a loose adaptation to the project, this anime series is filled with silly jokes, which makes it quite enjoyable. Otherwise it can be rather boring. Animation quality is very good, but the story is decent at best. Still, it is fun to watch Wataru struggles to adapt to his new life with his sisters...
The OP and EP are performed by Horie Yui, and not her best performance, nor the songs are that good. They are just not good enough for me to buy them.

Sister Princess ~Re Pure~ (2002)
13 episodes TV series
This is the story of twelve sisters who love their big borther...
That pretty much sums up this series, the first half of each episode features the normal story, while the second half features a unique and unrelated individual story of each sister. While a lot of sites identify this series as the sequel, I am having a hard time to do so. First of all, the story setting is more closer to the original Playstation game, instead of the first anime. Second of all, the CV for the "big brother" is changed, although that's no big deal (it will be a bigger deal for the fans if one of the CV for the sister is replaced...). As far as I can tell, there are not much reference to the first series, and the story settings is so different that I cannot link them together without questioning too much.
WHile the story is not too bad, it lacks the fun part from the first series. However, the OP and EP is probably one of the worst I have heard in my recent memory... As for the "individual" story, each one ends with a different song written by the late 岡崎 律子 (Okazaki Ritsuko), some of them are pretty good...
