万能文化猫娘 (All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku)
Natsume Ryunosuke and his father Kyusaku is on the run from Mishima, the company that funds Kyssaku's robotic research. They ended up getting a stray cat killed along the run, and Kyusaku decided to use the cat's brain on his android body stolen from Mishima - thus Natsume Atsuko, a.k.a. Nuku Nuku, is born! It is not easy for a robot with a cat brain to learn to act like a normal human girl, let alone protecting Ryunosuke from her over-protective mother, Mishima Aikiko, along with her minions and world-destorying robots!
Nuku Nuku is based on the manga created by 高田裕三 (Takada Yuzo) in 1990. The manga only lasted for three chapters when the monthy comic magazine it appeared on was cancelled. In 1992, the OVA was released, and it instantly became a hot item. A total of six episodes were released over two years, with the last three episodes produced after a short hiatus.
In early 1998, a remake of Nuku Nuku as a TV series was released. The story was modified to include new characters and new settings. Also, a new OVA series, Nuku Nuku DASH! was released in late 1998, with yet another altered storyline featuring a more mature Nuku and Ryunosuke.
