Kanenone Academy is a "boys only" high school. Isolated from the world (and girls) by mountains and forests. Takasaki Yusuke, a 2nd year student, led a normal life in the academy with his hyper-active classmates until the school plans to become co-ed, with girls from another high school being transferred for the summer as a trial run.
Suddenly life in Kanenone is no longer boring... Especially for pervert boys who loves pretty girls and busty teachers... Even better when the girls have to stay in the new girls' dorm... Can Yusuke remain "normal" and not becoming a pervert himself, while keeping his now "hyper-pervert" classmates from making a mess at the girls' dorm???
The first time I came across "Green Green" was at Anime News Network 2 years ago, when it posted a link to the promo movie for "Green Green 2" PC game. At first I have no idea that it is a hentai game (that didn't take me too long to find out), but since it got a TV series produced originally aired in Japan at a very late night timeslot, it got my attention. It never hurts when the story is about girls coming to a boy school. (I can definitely relate to that...) Anyway, the original PC game spawns 2 sequels, a TV series and 1 OVA sequel. Pretty good for a hentai game.
The TV series is licensed by Media Blasters back in 2004, and will be released in North America in May 2006.

It is rare that a anime based on a hentai game is not hentai (ahem...), however, while it can be shown on TV (the original airing time is like 25:00, which is 1:30 after midnight, and don't ask me why the Japanese like to use time like that), it is really on a thin thin line of becoming a hentai anime. Luckily, the producers know how to restraint themselves for every episode.
The story follow the original game storyline (I have never played the game before... only based on educated guess), which won't hurt if you don't know the game story.
Pervert jokes, flashing boobs and panty shots are the selling points here, no wonder the love storyline may seems a little bit weak, but hey, who is looking for a story here anyway?!

1 episode OVA, released in 2004.
As a one-shot sequel to the TV series, this one is actually a geniue hentai anime (I guess the producers just lost the restraints...). While you may want to skip it because of hentai, it actually helps you to understand the storyline for "Green Green 3" the game if you have not played the first one.

The storyline for the first game is essentially the same with the TV series, with the OVA story already given out the correct action your character (Takasaki Yusuke) should take. While I do not have a copy of it, the graphics are just not good enough when compare to the 2 sequels.
Green Green 2, on the other hand, has a new character for you to control, and it has been 6 months since the end of Green Green. While Yusuke and his trio of friends are still in the game, they are now secondary characters. Now with the school becoming a co-ed, your character has 4 new girls to choose from. Yes I DO have a copy and I haven't finished playing through it yet...
Green Green 3, as of this writing, is slated to release on Aug 5 this year. Taking place right after the end of Green green 2, you get to control Yusuke again, and this time you can choose to go with Futaba chan, or 4 new girls as something big will happen to the girls' dorm, which you can guess Yusuke's friends are right in the middle of it.
