双恋 -フタコイ- (Futakoi)

Futakoi was first serialized in Dengeki G's Magazine back in October 2002. Since then it became a popular feature for the publication for the next 3 years, resulting in 3 PS2 games, 2 TV shows and various tie-ins in merchandises. G's Magazine ended the run in October 2005, exactly 3 years since its inception. A novel version of Futakoi Alternative just starts its run in the Nov. 2005 issue of G's Magazine.

What draws me to this series is, what else, beatiful twins! Let's face it, the character designs are superb.

The review of the PS2 games will be available in the "PS2 games" section in the future...

Interesting fact:
According to the monthly poll published by G's Magazine, the Shirogane twins have the highest ranking in the game character poll by the readers, Souju with at number 2 and Sara at number 3, followed by Ichijou twins at number 6 and 14, and the Sakurazuki twins at 18 and 20. (Taken from the Nov 2005 poll)

双恋 (Futakoi)
13 episodes TV series (2004)

Futami Nozomu returns to the town where he lived as a child to attend high school. He soon finds himself caught up with all the twin girls in this town.... including his childhood sweethearts, the Ichijou twins...

Average story based on the characters, some fans got annoyed by the fact that the character designs are a downgrade to the original... as well as the story iteslf.

This TV series focus on the relationships between Nozomu and Ichijou twins and Sakurazuki twins (yes that's a double love triangle).

フタコイ オルタナティブ (Futakoi Alternative)
13 episodes TV series (2005)

After his father's death, Futaba Rentarou are now in charge of the Futaba Detective Agency. Along with Shirogane Sara and Soujyu, his live-in twin assistants. Everyday should be fun and exciting...

To lots of fans' delights, an alternate series were made in early 2005 with a totally unrelated and different storyline. With a brand new cast of characters (except the 6 twins... of course), it promises lots of actions and focus on the relationship between the Shirogane twins and Rentarou.

Yes, the story is sometimes wacky, but funny enough. Still, it is a love story, and a pretty good one too. Animation quality is far better than the other series, and character designs are more closely resemble to the original designs in G's Magazine.

Interstingly, since the story focus on the Shirogane twins and Rentarou, so the rest of the twins got a lot less on-screen appearances than in the previous series...
