地球防衛企業ダイ・ガード (Earth Defence Enterprise Dai-Guard)

Twelve years ago, the Earth was attacked by giant invaders. To defend our planet from future attacks, the Japanese government formed the 21st Century Security Corporation, which built the giant robot Dai-Guard to deal with the invaders. However, the invaders never returned, and subsequently, the Corporation becomes a private company, with Dai-Guard become a "giant useless thing" and a tourist attraction for the corporation.

Fast forward to now, with the invaders coming back for real. The only thing standing in their way is Dai-Guard and the people from the Public Relation 2nd Divison. Can these salary men and women stop the invaders and protect the city while having the stockholders, mangers and creditors breath down on their necks??

Dai-Guard was first broadcasted on TV from 1999 to 2000 for a total of 26 episodes. The animation was created by XEBEC (under Production I.G.)

A traditional "giant robot against alien" plot, with a fresh new idea of having a modern corporation to maintain the robot, and you get Dai-Guard. Surprisingly, the story got enough meat to keep it going, character development is superb, and of course there will be rival competitions...

The story is good, so good that I will recommend to anyone (including girls). After watching it you will know the true meaning of being a hero...
