I think I was in Form 1 (Grade 7 for those in Canada) when I first watched it. I like the idea of having "boosters" on race cars (however it may sound crazy...)
This is a character-driven show, with comedy, romance and drama all mixed together. It is not just about racing.

The car Kazami Hayato used for the first half of the show. Equipped with the state of the art cyber navigation system "Asurada" created by Hayato's father, its performace is only about average through out the race, due to its lack of power and with only one booster. However, "Asurada" is not your average computer with great processing abilities, and someone wants it badly...
Sugo Super Asurada SA-01
The car Kazami Hayato used for the second half of the show. This is the "original" form of Asurada, built by Hayato's father before the "tragic incident" (not going to tell you ha ha). Different from most race cars, Asurada features the new concept "transformation" system that enable it to interchange from 3 different modes on the fly: Aero (for high speed straight course), Circuit (normal form, as seen in picture), and Rally (for use in rally races). It is also equipped with two boosters and a six-wheel (4 front, 2 rear) chasis.
