One year after the end of "ZERO", it is now 2019, and the last race for Hayato to clinch his title. However, he is denied by Jackie Gudelhian and Frank Heinel with Stil HG-165. Now is the time for other teams to develope new cars to match the World Champ, including Sugo. Can they redesign Asurada for Hayato in time for next season...?
Meanwhile, years of losing to Sugo and others make the brass at Aoi looking for a new direction: enter new boss Nagumo Kijiro and his new car Al-Zard NP-1. Naoki Shinjyo fired by the new boss, in favor of his new rookie driver Philip Fritz. However, is everything as it seems? What is the secrets behind Al-Zard...?
This new OVA features yet another change in character designs. (I still prefer the designs in "ZERO") This time is also differ from the the other series, in which we have a more "serious" tone to the story. (Well just a little more) We get to see more on Hayato's "bad side", as he tries to forget what happened last year. Of course, the unexpected rookie Philip Fritz and Al-Zard will keep him in a really bad mood for a while. This time, we get to see Hayato driving the new Garland instead of Asurada. Don't worry he will get the new Asurada mid-way through the season.
Meanwhile, rookie Philip Fritz is winning the early races in style, and nobody can even get close to him, not even Bleed Kaga with the same car. So is it possible for a no name rookie to be so good that he never made a mistake, or there are secrets about the rookie and the car? Everything will be revealed in the end, and the shocking connection between Hayato's father and Nagumo's own brother...
And what happen to Shinjyo? Will he come back...?
Overall, a rate of 8 because of the cool cars and good drama.

Sugo Grand Prix Garland SF-02
Upgraded with more power, the Garland is still a pretty good car on its own, of course it will never be as good as the new Asurada...
Sugo Grand Prix ν-Asurada AKF-0
The newest version of Asurada, redesigned by Clair Fortlan. It took her a lot longer than expected to complete, and it is up to Hayato to regain his form to win it all.
Although the car may look about the same as Super Asurada AKF-11 (except for the structure in front of the rear wheels), there are subtle changes. The transformation system may look the same, but the time required to complete the mode change is greatly reduced, thanks to the use of new rare metal alloy on the car's body. On overall performance, it may not be top of the class, but it is now equipped with a 2-stage boosters that will prove to be a simple, yet brillant way to challenge Al-Zard.
Aoi Exssperion Z/A-10
The final version of Exssperion, it was developed and on final testing stage when Nagumo scraped the cars and the plans completely, after a little show put on by his pet project "Al-Zard" with the two Exssperion driven by Naoki Shinjyo and Bleed Kaga.

The car that earns Jackie Gudelhian the World Championship in 2019, even it will have a hard time competing with Al-Zard. Shown here is the same car driven by Franz Heinel, the car's designer.
Union Saviour Issuxark XX-03
Like the one used by Randoll in the end of "ZERO", this new version incorporates the rotatable cockpit of Stil and the 6-wheel chasis configuration of Super Asurada. Unlike its predessors, its weight is lighter thanks to the new designs. The one-booster configuration "Messer Wing" is still featured in this lastest version of Issuxark.
Note: The above pictuer is again, not the exact pictuer of Issuxark XX-03, instead it is the next version, XX-03/II. However, both are similar enough that I can live with it, and I cannot past up the chance to finally post the "charming" picture of Randoll. (HA HA!)
Aoi Al-Zard NP-1
Al-Zard is not developed by Aoi, instead it was developed by Nagumo Kojiro and his people, after Nagumo offered his services to the Aoi board of directors and promise them he will bring the champioship to them, nothing less.
Al-Zard is not just a new car, it is a state of the art, technological marvel. Its body is made with a rare metal alloy called T3000, which allows the car's body to change shape during mode changing, thus it can change mode so quick it will minimize any aerodynamic problems. It is equipped with a bio-computer as the navigation system. With a new chasis featuring a 8-wheel configuration and two powerful boosters, its maximum speed can exceed 700KM/H.
There are difference between the two cars driven by Philip Fritz and Bleed Kaga. Fritz's car (the dark one) is the one equipped with bio-computer, while Kaga's car is only equipped with a standard computer package.
So why not install a bio-computer on Kaga's car? It will be revealed that the bio-computer designed for Al-Zard is not just a simple navigation system. It secrets, once revealed, shock the whole driving community and with big consequence for Aoi, paving the way for the next series...
