Hoshino Koto is just a nomral high school student, until the day she visites the shrine of Izumo, when something happens! Just as she is sucked into the mysterious mirror at the shrine, Cruz, the leader of the Cosprayers, comes to save Koto and entrust her with Cosprayer Scarlett. However, it is too late...
When Koto and others wakes up afterwards, everything has changed. They now have to defeat the evil forces and restore order, and return to their own world! Can Koto, the new cosprayer, overcome her doubts and earn the others' trust in battle?
The Cosmopolitan Prayers is part of a three anime series that follows the creation of a TV live-action show, The Cosmopolitan Prayers It was released in erarly 2004. The second series, ヒットをねらえ (Smash hit!) was released right after it. The final series, LOVE♥LOVE? was relased right after Smash hit! ended.

The Cosmopolitan Prayers is the most disjointed series of all three, since it is the "show" that was being made. As a result, you may have a hard time to make sense of it all as you watch along, but that's not the point, the point is to suffer first, and then you will be rewared for your sufferings, and finally understand what is going on in those episodes...
Ecchi level: minimal, but lots of "ahem!" poses in their tight-fit suits...

Smash hit! is one interesting show on what's going on in the production process of the "live show". Of course, it shreds alot of light on several episodes in The Cosmopolitan Prayers, finally making some sense to it...
